The skier in pain was taken from the Tour de Ski to the hospital – I was crying at the finish line

Norwegian skier Mathilde Myhrvold was taken to the hospital after the opening stage of the Tour de Ski. Tells about it Expressen.

Myhrvold caught the attention right after the opening stage of the Tour de Ski. The Norwegian was the last in the free sprint final and finished one minute and 21 seconds the winner, by Kristine Skistad after.

In the goal area, Myhrvold was visibly in pain. According to Expressen, another ski glove was helped off the skier holding his hand. VG wrotethat Myhrvold cried at the finish line.

The reason soon became clear. Myhrvold fell during the race.

– He fell and hit his shoulder. I don’t know exactly what happened, but he has a lot of pain in his shoulder, Norway coach Sjur Ole Svarstad tells a Swedish newspaper.

Myhrvold was taken from the goal area to the hospital for X-rays to determine the extent of the injuries.

Gotta keep going

The Norwegian had to fight to the finish in the final, because otherwise he would have had to automatically stop the entire Tour de Ski.

Myhrvold’s injury would be a setback for Norway. Two weeks ago, he was second in the free sprint in Davos. Myhrvold has seven individual World Cup podium places.

Norway won the final Kristine Skistad. He told VG that he spoke with Myhrvold at the finish line. This scares the shoulder out of place.
