Inspired by the author of Moscow And Inseparable from the pain for the death of his wife, The film presented at the last Cannes Film Festival tells the mourning (all physical, for Cronenberg the psychological question could not be more marginal) than a widower (Cassel), a visionary of funeral pumps with an attached restaurant.
A movie in which a little bit of everything happens (too much?)the hi tech cemetery is desecrated, Diane Kruger becomes in three (the wife in flashbacks, the sister -in -law, the voice of artificial intelligence) and a computer attack opens up to a spionic scenario.

The “southwashes” of the title (beautiful, bring back to childhood nightmares and beasts) are the symbol of our fragility and the devotion it requires.
