Perhaps the most telling situation of Wednesday’s match round of the Ice Hockey Championship League was seen in the opening set of the Tappara–JYP match at the Nokia Arena in Tampere.
Antti from Tyrräinen became the 12th player in the history of the series to have taken more than 1,000 minutes of ice time in the regular season.
Tyrväinen thundered Tappara Kristian Tanunsen and got sent off for a tackle on the head or neck area.
The attention rating of Tyräinen’s trick was raised by the fact that the jäyheirohumu signed a contract with JYP just a short time ago. It was Tyrväinen’s second match of the season.
From JYP’s head coach Petri Matikainen was asked at the press conference after the match if he wants to defend Tyrväi.
Tanus got a hard beating. Mika Kylmäniemi / AOP
– Not me now… The last time I defended a player, I got some nasty “shits” on me. I’m not going to comment now. The judge made such a decision, Matikainen said.
– That’s all I’m saying that Antti didn’t come to us because Antti wanted to do something like this. This was a completely unintentional game situation.
Tyrväinen has several tackles to the head in the SM league. In 2016, Tyrväinen received the longest suspension in the history of the SM league, which has been given for a tackle. Tyrväinen got a 12 game cake after rolling Joonas Lehtvuori. At the time, Taklaus was considered worthy of seven games, but the sentence was toughened by Tyrväinen’s previous disciplinary history.
Tappara’s terrible powers 3+1 collected Aapeli Räsänen condemned Tyrväinen’s tackle in an interview with MTV Katsomo.
– Ugly situation. Ugly tackle. I hope the gentleman is fine and there won’t be a long hiatus, Räsänen said on Katsomo’s match broadcast.
Where Tyrväinen knocked out Tanus, Tappara knocked out JYP. The top match ended with Tappara winning 6–3.
