2015 world champion in 110 meter hurdles Sergei Shubenkov has had a motorcycle accident, a Russian site Champions news.

Šubenkov, 32, flew off a brand new motocross bike while riding in the woods after athletics practice.

The Russian star’s collarbone was broken in a crash. He will go for tests on Monday to find out if the clavicle needs surgery.

From Shubenkov’s coach From Sergei Klevtsov felt no sympathy for his protégé. He pestered the pager with harsh words.

– The fact that Šubenkov jumped on the back of a motorcycle is really unprofessional. I have always praised Jelena Isinbaeva’s example to other athletes. Yelena said she would never go skating because it’s too dangerous, Klevtsov compared.

– And now an athlete who only has a couple of years left in his career decided to take such a risk. This is really a big disappointment.

Klevtsov promised to continue coaching Šubenkov, but is not sure when the paddler will be able to return to the track.

Šubenkov took his most recent medal at the 2019 World Championships in Doha when he finished second. His record is 12.92 run in the summer of 2018.
