On Thursday the 1st, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta traveled to Rosario. He was with Mayor Pablo Javkin and then participated in a cabinet meeting led by Governor Maximiliano Pullaro. He went to convey his management experience to them, as he had done days before in Mendoza. The former head of the Buenos Aires Government seeks his reconstruction process with the governors who accompanied him during the failed presidential campaign of 2023. He will try to grow his political muscle again from the plain and with the consent of Pullaro, Claudio Poggi, Marcelo Orrego and Alfredo Cornejo.
Although he did not actively participate in the debate over the Omnibus law, he decided to intervene when Javier Milei’s project returned to committees: “Long live consensus, darling!” he tweeted. And he completed: “Many Argentines agree with the need for a profound change. For this, 3 things are needed, equally important: clear ideas, consensus and management.”
Meanwhile, the former mayor of Buenos Aires rearranges his foundation. And although it is not yet formally established, he already works there with a small table made up of his brother Augusto and deputies Silvia Lospennato and Álvaro González, among others.
In that team they analyze the danger of Mauricio Macri’s move to bring the PRO closer to Javier Milei’s management, of which Larreta is critical. For this reason, they also decided not to get involved in the upcoming election process in the party. They will not present a list to make it easier for the former president to take office in March. But they will continue to protest because they perceive that he is isolating the world from him. The path chosen was to strengthen ties with former allies, especially with radical leaders.
