Born in December 1861, Pehr Evind Svinhufvud was Finland’s third president, who served in 1931-1937.
He was a judge and a politician and played an important role during Finland’s independence. Prior to his presidential term, Svinhufvud served as the President of Parliament from 1907 to 1912, as the head of the White Senate during the Civil War in 1918 and after the Civil War as a Finnish state -owner until the end of the same year.
Svinhufvud was married Ellen Timgren’s with, and they got six children together. The family followed his father’s career and lived in several places before the presidency.
Svinhufvud died in February 1944 at home in Kotkaniemi, Luumäki.
