The tickets for the Onwies Faute party in the Wijk were sold out so quickly that it was decided to set up an extra large tent. It will be on Saturday 11 March on the event grounds of the village.
The organization pulls out all the stops during this party, which is organized for the first time by Stichting De Wiek Actief. The organization, consisting of Bram Inberg, Justin Hendriks, Vera Vos and Benny Spin, has been preparing for this spectacle for quite some time.
Last Saturday morning, for example, Valentine’s Day cakes were sold at Coop Dunnink, the proceeds go to charity, which in this case is the Onwies Faute Feest. Antrappers chairman Arend Klomp helped sell the cakes, although he has no further involvement with the Faute Feest.
Wrong sing-along hits
The idea for this arose last year during a meeting. “We felt like organizing a party for young and old. With all tasty well-known wrong sing-along hits and where the visitors come dressed wrong. Because the dress code is: ‘How Fauter how Better’”, says Vera Vos. She recently won the Woman in the Media Award 2022 in Drenthe. She received the prize for the Passion in the Countryside project, which she made together with Manon Hessels from Oosteinde.
Benny Spin of Artiestenbureau Bemo Entertainment is the organizer of numerous events in the region, including Monsters of Rock Veeningen. Bram Inberg and Justin Hendriks play together in party band De Pieperts. And in the past they already organized an New Year’s Eve party in De Wijk.
Wrong party tent
The Onwies Faute party takes place in a cozy old-fashioned party tent on the event site in De Wijk. Five times the wrong hour between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m., provided by locally renowned DJs. According to the organization, it will be dancing, jumping, hustling on tasty wrong sing-alongs, which are actually quite good.
