Chris Pronger is currently visiting Finland. On his X account, he posted pictures from Senatintor, Helsinki’s core.

– It’s great to be in Finland on vacation and to learn more about my Finnish roots.

Pronger specified that his mother was born in Pori.

Ässät reacted and invited Pronger and his family to the Isomäki hall for a league match in X.

– You must get to experience the atmosphere of Isomäki and see Finland’s largest standing stadium.

Ässät suggested Saturday’s HIFK match and the Tappara match after Christmas as possible visiting days.

By Thursday evening, Pronger had not reacted to the invitation, at least publicly.

Hall of Famer

Pronger, 50, was known during his glorious NHL career as a hard-nosed and strong defender, but also as a consistently powerful defender. In Finland, he is especially remembered Teemu Selänten as a teammate from the 2006–07 Stanley Cup season.

Pronger played in the NHL for 18 seasons and more than 1300 games, including the playoffs. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015.
