Rita Prigomore, who survived, tells her own story and that of her dead sister Rolanda.

Chief physician of the Auschwitz concentration camp Josef Mengele performed horrible experiments on Roma babies and children in the name of medicine. Many children were mutilated and killed in them, such as The silent history of the Roma is told in the series.
However, Mengele, called the Angel of Death, did not act alone. It appears when a Finnish musician Miritza Lundberg see you in Germany Rita Prigomore. He miraculously survived the tests. His twin sister Rolanda Winterstein was not so lucky. He was allowed to live with Mengele’s Nazi medical colleague, a psychiatrist Werner Heyden processing for only a short time. Heyde was a professor at the University of Würzburg.

Rita and Rolanda were born in March 1943 to a Roma mother in Würzburg. Immediately after birth, the babies were taken From Theresa Winterstein. Human experiments were conducted in the city of birth.
– The Nazis colored my eyes, the back of my eyes. They injected a special solution into my eyes when I was a baby, Rita says on TV.
When Theresa came three days later to see her little ones, only one of the daughters was left. Rolanda was found dead in her bed with a bandage around her head.

Rita had a similar bond as well. He still has a large scar on the right side of his head. The same side ached, and it went numb.
– I fainted. My brain wasn’t getting oxygen.
Miritza Lundberg says in the program that she did know about Mengele, but Heyde’s name is new to her. Rita has more information about the man.
– Heyde investigated all unwanted persons. Those who represented the wrong race were deported to Auschwitz. Mengele worked in concentration camps, Heyde worked in Würzburg. His statements sent people to death camps.
