European leaders: Western Balkans must do more against migrant smuggling and human trafficking

The countries of the Western Balkans must do more to combat migrant smuggling and human trafficking. Border security also needs to be improved. The EU heads of government and those of the Western Balkan countries such as Albania, Bosnia and Serbia agreed on this on Wednesday. The number of illegal migrants entering the European Union via the Western Balkans has fallen sharply, but additional measures are needed.
