Somelierías, armed with tastings and tastings and even novel marketing styles for a business in full expansion.

The business around Yerba Mate today has more than 400 brands in the market and more than 2,200 yerba brands recorded in the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) and attends a sophistication similar to that of wine, which is modifying the final product that reaches the gondolas and that demands specific content, formations and training.

In this new context the Argentine School of Yerba Mate, with the purpose of combining the centenary legacy of this infusion with innovation and knowledge that leads to its next great transformation: the conquest of global palates through education.

Oriented to people who work in the industry, entrepreneurs, fans of the mate, and to the general public, the Argentine School of Yerba Mate is an institution that offers formations certified by the Inter -American Open University (UAI) with an educational development that has the purpose of expanding and deepening the knowledge of mate as an native drink of Argentina and from bordering countries.

“Our registered students belong to different fields. Some are in the industry and in the commercialization of the yerba mate; others want to know more about the composite herb process and others are entrepreneurs who wish to acquire tools to take another step in their business. We also orient this training to the general public, since we offer short courses for those who wish to know more, without professionalizing themselves,” he said, “he said Liliana Venerucci, Executive Director of the University Diplomatures of Yerba Mate.

To meet this growing demand, the Argentine School of Yerba Mate has a curriculum made up of different diplomatures certified by UAI, which invites the maternity, to expand their knowledge and develop new ways of undertaking, for those who wish to professionalize themselves. “It is that people can differentiate lands, know how the grass is composed of: how much stick, dust, or leaf, also the parking lot, since this will contribute different experiences to the palate,” said Venerucci.

The university diplomatures offered are: Sommelier de Yerba Mate, Yerba Mate Blender and Marketing of Yerba Mate. In addition, for fans who want to know more about their passion for mate, short courses are offered, with online and asynchronous course mode, where students can study their times. “We rescue the social essence of mate, and we will contribute to your journey through the world, without losing your Argentine heart. Each barley is a shared hug, a bridge that joins cultures. We bet on the evolution of the yerba mate through a trip of tradition, learning and evolution,” they said of the institution.

The directors and founders of this project, Liliana Venerucci and Diego Morlachetti They began with this work in 2020, developing a study methodology that has contributed to training professionals capable of carrying out innovative and successful ventures. The referents, of recognized trajectory in the educational area of ​​infusions – and founders of the Argentine Tea School (Since 2009) -, they created this school dedicated to teaching and training carrying the mate to the university environment for the first time
