A week ago, Iltalehti reported that Yle had originally announced that he would send Katri Helena’s last concert live on TV1. With the negotiations in late spring and early summer, the idea changed, and concert recording is only shown on television on Independence Day. From Yle, it was explained to Iltalehti that large productions required a “long and careful preparation process”.
Iltalehti asked Yle why the live broadcast would then succeed in Ultra Bra. It turned out that the decisive factor is that Ultra Bra will perform at the stadium twice, of which only the latter concert will be televised.
-As there are two concerts of Ultra Brala, we can do an entire exercise with YLE’s production team during the first concert on Friday, ensure that everything works as planned and will be ready to broadcast Saturday’s concert in a live broadcast, the producer of the YLE music record and events Venla Öfversten tells Iltalehti.
Yle made the decision on the live broadcast together with the concert organizers.
– With the Katri Helena concert, we decided with the organizer that the recording to be sent later will serve our common goals better. This is to ensure that we also get the highest quality of concert recording for television viewers, Öfversten says.
Ultra Bra will rise to the Olympic Stadium stage at 8pm, the concert broadcast of YLE starts at 9pm. The delay in the broadcast is YLE’s own software.
– Yle shows the Ultra Bra Concert on TV1, which includes the main news broadcast at 8:30 pm. For this reason, the concert broadcast will be seen immediately after the news and sports screen, explains Öfversten.
TV1 at 8:30 pm News is the most watched program on Finnish television from week to week. Although Saturday’s evening news broadcast is not as abundant as a similar broadcast on Sunday, for example, it typically collects hundreds of thousands of Finnish on television screens.
