The last Dutch hope for Wimbledon has also evaporated with a loss from Van de Zandschulp

Botic van de Zandschulp has been eliminated in the second round at Wimbledon. The native of Amsterdam lost to Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in four sets: 6-1, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. With that, all Dutch people are eliminated on the grass in London.

Van de Zandschulp survived the first round with a difficult victory over the Chinese Zhang. Van de Zandschulp had to be better against Davidovich Fokina, but in the first set he immediately got a blow to the ears (6-1). He recovered in the second set by striking back 3-6. Van de Zandschulp, who had injured his foot for some time, had to admit his inferiority to the Spaniard in the last two sets: 6-4 and 6-3.

The elimination of Van de Zandschulp means that there are no Dutch left at Wimbledon. Tallon Grepes and Gijs Brouwer already flew out on the holy grass in the first round. Van de Zandschulp, who reached the last sixteen last year, now also has to go home relatively early.
