When the couple had their middle child in 2015, Uusivuori decided to end his YleX morning radio show because he wanted to stay at home to take care of his son.
– It’s always a good idea to stop working on the wall and then find yourself pushing a stroller in the autumn rain and thinking that “what the hell, what was done – is there any point in this”. Uusivuori tells sarcastically in the podcast.
Uusivuori admits that after leaving the workplace, she was struck by a feeling of dread, which made her think about what kind of working life awaits her after the period taken for child care.
– I’ve thought about it in retrospect: it’s usually something that all women find themselves in when they leave working life. Then life may be a bit dark: what do you start doing after that? Uusivuori thinks.
– In retrospect, I have felt that I experienced it, Uusivuori praises.
The fear turned out to be pointless, as Uusivuori is today one of the most popular presenters in Finland. According to Uusivuuori, this fear is not the only side effect of parenting that he observed.
– All the savings were gone in nine months. But with the consequence that it is at least a much better feeling to hang out with children: I have a pretty good relationship with all my children and I got to be with them quite a lot back then, Uusivuori states.
Uusivuori and Hintikka have been in a relationship for 18 years. The couple got married in 2011.
