A few months ago it became clear that the costs of the energy island have risen explosively. In 2021 the cost price was still estimated at 2.12 billion euros, while now 7 to 8 billion euros is involved.
The construction of the second phase of the island was therefore already put on hold. The ball is now in the government’s camp, but it does not think the file is ripe today.
