Alex Plat is going through a very strong season, just like FC Volendam. The defensive midfielder, who was born and raised in the fishing village, made his fifth goal of the season in the 4-1 win over SC Cambuur. FC Volendam is now eleven points ahead of the competition and so Plat can carefully start to prepare for a new promotion party. “I can already see it, but I have to wait a few weeks,” said Plat.
The 27-year-old flat was responsible for the third Volendam goal of the afternoon. “It was again a good action by Bilal Ould-Chikh on Henk Veerman.
