The Finnish player is looking for a place to play in the NHL’s top team

Joel Kiviranta wants to play for the Colorado Avalanche.

Joel Kiviranta has signed a trial period contract with the NHL’s top team Colorado Avalanche. The journalist of The Athletic tells about it Peter Baugh message service in X, i.e. the former Twitter.

Kiviranta, 27, has played the previous four seasons in the Dallas Stars organization. Last season, Kiviranta played in 70 regular season matches, where 8+1 power points were created.

The Finnish forward has played a total of 163 regular season games in the NHL with 16+12=28 power points.

Kiviranta started his NHL career in the 2019–2020 season. Before that, he played in Vaasan Sport, where he achieved 19+18=37 power points at his best.

Kiviranta has played mostly in the triple and quadruple chains in the NHL.

The Avalanche have been one of the top teams in the NHL in recent years. The club won the Stanley Cup at the end of the 2021–2022 season. Mikko Rantanen, Artturi Lehkonen and Justus Annunen already play in Colorado’s organization.

Kiviranta scored three goals in the playoffs of the 2019–2020 season just in the Avalanche’s net in the seventh game of the playoff series between Dallas and Colorado.
