In the car world we are now talking in large part of electric. And the bikes also begin to move in that direction, with some manufacturers engaged in the development of battery -powered off -road models. But between enthusiasm and strategy, does it remain a concrete doubt: is the current technology really ready for the enduro? Paolo Magri, CEO of Eicma and former regularity pilot, is clear: in the off -road vehicle the autonomy remains the main limit. A liter of gasoline still allows an abundant hour of technical guide. An electric motorcycle, in the same conditions, risks stopping much earlier. If the electric in the city makes sense, in isolated paths no. Also for this reason, according to Magri, the young audience, although exposed to the message “Green”, does not yet seem really attracted by the battery off -road vehicle. Waiting for a serious technological evolution, the endothermic remains central. The efficiency, weight and charging speed continue to penalize the electric, especially in the segments where freedom of movement is everything. And today, that freedom still needs a combustion engine.
