What music does the hairdresser prefer to play while cutting and what are the best tunes for the community center? You can decide what RTV Drenthe plays in the last week of the year during this voting week. Robbert traveled through the province today to see what kind of music the people of Drenthe prefer to listen to.

The morning starts at a construction company in Hoogeveen, where they always start work early. The same goes for today. Tieneke Ringenier has given up the company, because the radio is always on here, and therefore also RTV Drenthe

“We normally have the radio on at construction and then you also hear the sound of the workshop and the boys who are hard at work,” says Ringenier. She herself indicates that she has a broad taste in music: “Sometimes I have hard rock or metal on in the car and coincidentally I went to see Paul Elstak in the Gelredome last weekend.”

To nominate a song in the Drenthe 1000, they conducted a poll among the team in Hoogeveen and a favorite emerged: Bohemian Rhapsody from Queen.

On to the Emmaschool in Assen, where Robbert visits to see what music is being done at this primary school. “We do a lot of music lessons and we also sing a lot,” says a teacher.

“We also do a lot of combinations of learning and making music, for example singing in English,” says another. Singing in English may be educational, but the nomination of the school’s teachers is common in the Netherlands: Back in timeby Yves Berendse.
