A patent has been granted for the ski grip sole solution developed by the Finnish company Customski and closely guarded as a secret.
It turns out From the database of the Finnish Patent and Registration Board.
Be the first to report on the patent and the patent protection it guarantees Over.
The highly secretive project has produced results under certain challenging conditions, but Finnish top skiers have been very tight-lipped about it. The fear has been that other countries would find out the secret and thus be able to undo its advantage, described in some places as revolutionary.
Grip bottom skis are a tool for difficult weather conditions to be used in sleet and rain. The ski is not lubricated for grip, but has a factory-made mechanical grip area.
The strength of the product is based on the fact that the grip area glides better than in a regular grip base ski. Customsk’s new product is, so to speak, an updated grip sole ski.
– It’s a little different from others. There is no substance in the bottom of the ski, it is mechanical. Details are confidential, Customs representative Pasi Vironen told Iltalehte in March 2024.
Pairs for the neck
CEO of Customs Esa Vironen tells Yle that after the patent is granted, the skis developed for a long time with Finnish skiers will be delivered to skiers.
One of the recipients of new skis is Iivo Niskanen. Vironen says that the three-time Olympic champion has been married to several couples. Vironen describes Niskanen’s ski custodian as having been “absolutely key” in product development.
