The Chapel opens Ostend Film Festival

he Chapel, starring Taeke Nicolai, tells the story of a virtuoso concert pianist who takes part in the Queen Elisabeth Competition. Together with the eleven other finalists, the pianist is traditionally secluded in the Music Chapel. However, that is where things are in danger of going wrong. The stress, the isolation and a dark secret create dark clouds, even before she has played a note.

Family project

The Chapel is a film production by Dominique Deruddere, although his entire family has a part in the film. Lorette, Deruddere’s wife, took care of the costumes. Dominique’s sons also participated in the film.

The film festival runs for nine days and closes next Saturday with the presentation of the Ensors.
