If in January that Sliding Door Francesco Camarda had opened on Saturday evening he would enter the San Siro lawn with the white and red shirt of Monza. Instead, it will do so once again with the Rossoneri one and, who knows, perhaps in this case the minutage will not be too stingy since only the opportunity remains linked to this game – opponents permitting – to be able to close among the first eight, in order to avoid the Italian Cup in the first half of August.

It was a sliding door on which Milan reflected for a long time. On the one hand the Monza of Fininvest and the old friend Galliani, on the other, continue with the future Milan and some raids in the first team. In both scenarios, complicated situations: the Brianza ranking was already very complex, and the same was valid for the future. Galliani actually at one point had considered the successful negotiation, as can be seen from the smile with tight teeth after the black smoke: “Ibra still calls me ‘boss’, but after we agreed he said that for the boy’s path he was better at Milan. I had to accept it”. This was the choice of the devil and it is complicated, even in the hindsight of the later, to judge whether it was the correct one. Both Monza and the future Milan are then relegated, but there is a factor that probably goes beyond the reflections on the most suitable shirt to wear in the second half of the semester: Camarda should have, regardless, put more minutes in the legs. The feeling is that of a certain incompleteness. Obviously, there has been growth – also because at his age, with an experience by force of minimal things, growing up is physiological -, but it could probably have been better accompanied in the management of the passages between the first and second team, and vice versa. The club, from what is understood, is however believed to be satisfied with the path taken and indicates the season of Camarda as a good example of the synergy between the two teams, as well as the overall minutage with the future is evaluated in more than positive terms for the growth of the boy.

The numbers of the season with Francesco’s “great” played so far 190 minutes spread over 12 appearances between the championship (9) and the pride of debut in the Champions League (3), the debut that made it the youngest Italian Deb in the most important cup, as well as in the European history of Milan. There could also have been the gem of the goal, but the god of the ball decided not to insert that icing at the top of the cake: the with Bruges network was canceled for offside, while with the red star the balloon bouncing the crossbar (and then put inside by Abraham). It would have been a big party, but it is not a goal – however iconic in proportion to age and context – to accelerate the growth of a 17 year old (he completed them in March). That comes with everyday life, the progressive increase in minutes in the legs and experience. With the future Milan, in C, the minutes were 1,590 for 20 appearances between the championship (18) and the Italian Cup (2), with 7 goals. But, observing the season in its entirety, two reviews stand out. The first: Francesco was unable to take part in the playouts against Spal because he did not have the number of presences enough – 25 – in the Camo di C. needless to say that he would have made very comfortable in a team without the injured lean and forced to deploy two attackers – IAnesi and above all traore – who are not role -playing. In the heart of the area, in the two challenges with the Emilians, the void was evident. The second factor is linked to the first: Camarda was unable to get to that altitude – as for example he did Bartesaghi, right on the last day – because he has often been taken from Fonseca and Conceiçao. Except, however, to find yourself mostly confined on the bench, ready in case of emergency. For eight weekends, Francesco did not put minutes in the legs anywhere, summoned by the first team and on the bench from start to finish.

The presences with Milan, in fact, were 13, but the total calls many more: 25. The management will therefore have to evaluate very carefully how to manage it next season. It will be interesting to know the thought of Tare and it will be basic to understand the category in which the future Milan will play: there may be some (difficult) foams to register again in C, but if instead it was Serie D, to go down among the amateurs how much could Francesco be helped in growth? Another hypothesis could see him inserted in all respects in the rose of the first team, but then we would return to the usual question: the prospect of an unsuitable minutage.
