Days of closing lists for Buenos Aires elections, with burning phones and internal in silent mode, a tender of almost 4,000 million pesos that came to light made the foundations of power tremble. The company Tech Security SRL, of the Menem family, won a private security contract for the headquarters of the National Bank for the next two years. In practice it is the continuity of the same company that already provided the service, but that this time the Data Raspa: One of that company’s partners, up to four days before the assumption of Javier Milei, was nothing less than Martín Menemtoday president of the Chamber of Deputies.
According to the Official Gazette, On December 6, 2023, Menem transferred his actions to his brother Adrián. Signed paper, cut formal link. But no one in the government takes the gesture as a real resignation, but as a neat way of running the body, without losing presence.
Tech Security was born in 2005, by the hand of Fernando Menem and his friend Pablo Vázquez, a neighbor of Núñez. The history of the link between them has a lot of chance: Vázquez’s father owned a bar at the corner of Lidoro Quinteros and Pablo Ricchieri, just 60 meters from the house of the Menem. Fernando followed a coffee. The relationship with the owner’s son was growing, first as a counter talk and then as a society. Today, almost 20 years later, Vázquez has 51% of Tech Security; Fernando, 34%; and the eldest of the Menem brothers, Adrián, 15%.
Fernando and Pablo put on another company called Purgato, dedicated to the cleanliness, in which both appear with 25% of the capital each. In 2019, Purgato achieved a tender at the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA). In 2004Fernando had already tried luck in another area: he founded Tech One Corporation, a company registered for wholesale and minor trade, in addition to repairing vehicles and motorcycles. An early step, perhaps experimental, on its tour as a multirub businessman.
Tech Security grew firmly. In addition to the recent contract with the Nation Bank, it already had a presence in football clubs such as River and Racing, in the Argentine Soccer Association (AFA), and also in different agencies of the State. Your specialty: security in massive events and institutional headquarters. The company sells hours of security personnel with experience in sports logistics, recitals and public offices.
The beginnings.
The visibility jump came in parallel with the political rise of the Libertarians Menem. Martín in Deputies, “Lule” in the Casa Rosada. But the first approach with the Milei universe was long before we talk about national positions or armed. In 2021, Tech Security was the company chosen to guard Javier Milei’s campaign bunker at Luna Park, when the libertarian was elected national deputy. That act had a festive tone, a mixture of political myself and rock show, and in security was the Menem family. A known episode of that act was when a custodian of Milei pointed to the public with a gun. It was a scandal for which Fernando received calls from everywhere believing that he was personal from his company. He had to explain to all that he was not his employee.
That bunker was the first sample of confidence between two universes that, over time, ended up assembling. In that Luna Park there was no organic libertarian militancy, or consolidated structures. There were curious, cameras and custody. Custody was Tech.
With the arrival of Milei to power, Tech Security maintained its rhythm of contracts in the private sector – which today represents 80% of its turnover – but also positioned itself as one of the few signatures of the item with direct arrival to official offices.
