The buffer of most savers is growing, but almost 20 percent have less than 500 euros in their account: ‘Broken washing machine can immediately be a problem’

Three in five savers have a buffer of more than 3,000 euros in reserve for emergencies. This is evident from the ING Savings Survey 2025. Half of savers are concerned about the amount of their savings balance, almost a fifth of savers have less than 500 euros in their savings account.
