Triathlon World Championships in Lahti Olivia knowles has only received months of life, British magazine Independent write.
Knowles, 33, suffers from leukemia, which was initially improperly diagnosed. The doctors thought the British athlete had a prolonged corona.
Knowles’ symptoms began at the end of 2023. His head ached and he was exhausted, which referred to Korona.
The triathlonist also noticed his fatigue in the Lahti Games, where he could not run as usual.
“However, I didn’t feel unwell every day, so I just excluded it,” Knowles recalls.
Soon, Knowles also began a shocking tooth pain that forced him to the hospital. There he finally got a diagnosis of acute myeloic leukemia.
– It was a total shock, she says.
Knowles was subjected to heavy chemotherapy treatments for 2024. Leukemia was repeated many times.
One doctor even suggested Knowles even assisted suicide at the Swiss Dignitas clinic.
In December 2024, the athlete momentarily received good news when the doctor said he had survived after a cancer stem cell transplant.
However, the joy was short -term. In March, leukemia returned and Knowles only given months to life.
