The ANC chooses the former republican Núria Marín as its new vice president after the cascade of resignations

The ANC already has a substitute for Jordi Pesarrodona, who left the position of vice president of the entity last February, critical of the leadership. Is about Nuria Marin Casasformer councilor of CKD in Lleida, which has received the support of 34 secretaries, while another 14 have voted for an alternative candidate. Marín has been elected this Saturday at a meeting of the national secretariat held in Tremp. The last meeting of the entity resulted in 13 resignations of members critical of the current management and specifically with the president, Dolors Feliufor his management of the proposal for an electoral list outside the current political parties.

Marín is a former militant and former ERC candidate. She joined the party in 1989 and during the 2015-2019 legislature she was a councilor for Peria with the Republicans. In 2019, she resigned from the party’s membership “considering that her ideological and strategic drift left the fight for independence in the background.” In her speech after being elected, Marín has opted to further promote the entity’s internal debate and strengthen it, above all, from the bases. This is, in fact, one of the criticisms made by the critical sector of the entity, which accuses Feliu of imposing his own plan to put together the so-called ‘civic list’ based on “authoritarianism” and “abuse of power”.

In the last General Assembly, where all the full members participate, it was approved with 96% of the votes boost this list. That was in May 2022, but last January the secretariat clamorously knocked down Feliu’s proposal to launch a working group to carry it out. The statutes make it clear that the Assembly cannot compete directly in the elections, only promote certain options, as was done with Junts pel Sí. Critics consider that making a decision of this caliber deserves a longer debate process and an agreement of the Dome.

The meeting this Saturday has also served to designate carles fite as the new coordinator of sectoral projects and actions. Later they should also fill the positions of the resigned secretaries. Not only the 13 this weekend, but also those who had left the management of the entity in recent months for various reasons, which add up to more than 20. A few places have been filled with substitutes, but the rest will have to chosen in partial elections, which are expected to be held before the summer.
