Expect to spend longer on the road over the next three weekends if you want to travel from Gouda to Zoetermeer, because road works are planned.

Rijkswaterstaat will carry out maintenance on the A12 during three weekends from Friday, November 14 to Monday, December 1, 2025. From the Gouwe junction to the Prins Clausplein junction near The Hague. Road users must take a detour and take into account an additional travel time of 30 to 60 minutes.

New asphalt

The asphalt of the A12 between Gouda and The Hague is being replaced and that is why the highway will be closed for three weekends. This is what it means for Zoetermeer residents:

  • From Friday, November 14, 10:00 PM to Monday, November 17, 5:00 AM between the Gouwe junction and Zoetermeer-Centrum (exit 6)
  • From Friday, November 21, 10:00 PM to Monday, November 24, 5:00 AM between the Gouwe junction and Zoetermeer-Centrum (exit 6)
  • From Friday, November 28, 10 p.m. to Monday, December 1, 5 a.m. between the Gouwe junction and the Prins Clausplein junction

Please note: Rijkswaterstaat can close the entrances, exits and connecting roads up to an hour earlier than the stated time.

Diversion routes

  • Traffic from Gouda to The Hague is diverted via the A20 and A13;
  • Traffic from Utrecht to The Hague is diverted via the N11 and the A4;
  • Traffic from Zoetermeer is diverted via the N470 and N219 (exit 8 and exit 7)

If you travel from Prins Clausplein in the direction of Zoetermeer during those days, there is nothing wrong with it.
