Actor Danny Masterson, 47, has been convicted of rape. The court found that the actor was guilty of raping two women at his home in Hollywood. The rapes took place between 2001 and 2003.

Masterson could face up to 30 years in prison.

Cases have been tried in court in Los Angeles before. Last fall, the trial failed to reach a resolution due to disagreements among the jury. Masterson was accused of raping three women. Now the third case was still unsuccessful.

Masterson belongs to the Church of Scientology, whose various procedures became a central topic in the criminal investigation. Masterson and his victims have been Scientologists.

International spokesman for the church organization Karin Pouw however, previously denied that the church was involved in the matter in any way.

– The church is not related to this processing in any way. Here, they are now shamefully trying to shift their gaze to Masterson’s religion, commented Pouw.

Masterson is best known The 70’s Show – series, where he played a character named Steven Hyde between 1998 and 2006. A Netflix spin-off from the series appeared at the beginning of the year 90’s Show, featuring numerous original actors. Masterson will not be seen in the new series.
