Is there a record on the criminal record for André Hazes jr. and Monique Westenberg? According to hazologist Yvonne Coldeweijer, they are expected in court soon.

André Hazes jr. and Monique Westenberg caused controversy in April last year by taking their then 5-year-old son out of school two weeks early to travel through America. Huh, since when is this allowed? Well, not. Unless you fall under one of the exceptions and there is permission from the school director.

Andre in court

It allowed alone if the parents of a child of school age cannot go on holiday for two consecutive weeks during any regular school holiday because of their work. That was not the case here: after all, André was on a kind of rehab sabbatical and Monique… Well, what does Monique actually do?

Hazologist Yvonne Coldeweijer wrote at the time that ‘quite a lot of shit has arisen at mini Dré’s primary school’, because other parents did not think this was fair. Now she reports on her infamous juice channel: “André junior has to appear in court soon.”

Standing above the law

André and Monique have not received permission from the school at all, says Yvonne. “André and Monique just didn’t care about this and then, despite this rejection, they went on holiday.”

She continues: “The school passed this on to the attendance officer and this has therefore escalated. Now he can explain to the judge why they made this choice and why they think they are above the law.”

Is Monique lying?

Strange it is. At the time, Monique responded to the criticism as follows: “We can’t do that ‘just like that’ either. As your own entrepreneur(s) you may apply to leave outside the holidays. This is allowed for a maximum number of days. After that it was April/May vacation.”

Yvonne: “Remember this one? 😂 Monique the entrepreneur is a jokkebrok and had no permission at all.

Criminal record

Can André and Monique continue laughing after paying a fine? No, violating the compulsory education law is a serious offense and even up to one month imprisonment on.

This will not be the case here, but a note on the criminal record is possible. Last year, a case came to court about a 5-year-old boy who did not appear at school because of a trip, in that case two days. “Will I get a criminal record now?”, his father asked Rechtspraak.nl. The judge: “Yes, you will receive a note.”

Oops, that will be an exciting visa application for André next time.
