In the past transfer window, there would have been almost a spectacular obligation at Bayern. British media report on this and give the reason why the deal failed.
As the British portal “The Athletic” reports, FC Bayern tried to hire Raheem Sterling towards the end of the past summer transfer period. The request to the offensive player of Chelsea was part of the Munich’s final efforts to secure himself in the course of the lengthy negotiations with the Premier League club-especially if Nicolas Jackson’s desired change had not come about. The “Telegraph” also reported about it.
Sterling, however, immediately rejected FC Bayern’s approach. According to information from the report, the former English international referred to private motives. People from his environment would have confirmed that the professional could not imagine a short -term move to Germany – combined with a temporary separation from his family or a complete parade.
The experiences from a comparable scenario in the previous year are said to have played a role in this: In the summer of 2024, Sterling was loaned to FC Arsenal shortly before the transfer window ended within London. At that time, there was hardly any time for intensive conversations with trainer Mikel Areteta – a situation that Sterling found to be unfavorable. At the Gunners, he was only used as a supplementary player. 28 competitive games, one goal and five goals were his balance sheet.
Another contact by Bayern is now unlikely. The transfer of Nicolas Jackson was ultimately successfully completed in the form of a loan business with a purchase option, there is currently no further need in the offensive midfield.
Sterling himself is no longer playing a role at Chelsea. The 30-year-old trains individually, separately from the professional squad, and recently only took part in units with the U21. For the winter transfer phase, the club is planning a new attempt to give the player – so it can be heard from England. FC Bayern should no longer be an option.
