What has been in the room since spring is now officially in 2026 there will be no RAW tour in the ski jump World Cup calendar. Already in the first calendar design, Oslo and Wickersind were there as separate events. So one could already assume that it would be quite tight for this special rating. Racing director Sandro Pertile said that it was mainly due to the fact that you want to increase the attractiveness of these individual events. But if you are honest, that’s a maximum of half the truth. Because the financial worries that the organizers and, above all, the Norwegian Ski Association are currently being involved, are now more than offset. It is therefore not surprising that you are unable to meet more than the minimum requirements for a World Cup, but it would need it for such a special classification on the part of the FIS. But the RAF itself had also set high demands and goals from the start. You wanted to be the most extreme ski jump in the world, you wanted to be a counterpart to the four -hill tour. In the end, you also failed mostly. In almost every year there were changes in the mode and or the venues. Sometimes there were team jumping that counted in the overall ranking, sometimes there were mixed team jumping who didn’t do that. And sometimes there were three passages and sometimes only two when the ski flying in bikers and bikers and sometimes. And the starter numbers were not always identical. The matter of the venues is then more difficult. Originally there should be four, but in recent years there were only two left. On the one hand, of course, also justified in the fact that the World Cup system in Trondheim has been converted in the meantime. But if you are honest, this event was missing if it really wanted to establish itself, especially one and that is continuity. How to do this is the four -hill tour of the fourth place. Traditionally, the four venues also jump to the constant appointments, and for over 20 years with the CO mode. You also become a classic. So what remains of the RAF? Rather primarily the efforts to integrate the ski jumpers into the World Cup program and also in connection with it. The topic of equal pay. Because with its prize money, the RAF was actually a pioneer and a model for the four -hill tour. To this day, they don’t exist for the ski jumpers. So that is primarily what remains.
