Alcaraz one lap further

World number one Carlos Alcaraz has made it into the round of 16 after a tough struggle. The Spaniard had a lot of trouble with Chile’s Nicolas Jarry, whom he was only able to defeat after 3:56 hours 6:3, 6:7 (6:8), 6:3, 7:5. He now meets Alexander Zverev or Matteo Berrettini (Italy).

Alcaraz already had their backs to the wall in the 70-minute hard-fought fourth set, but Jarry couldn’t maintain his lead after a break. At 5:6, the number 25 seeded Chilean lost his serve for the second time and ended the match a little later with a backhand error.
