Due to temperatures that can rise to above 30 degrees, the National Heat Plan will be active tomorrow. The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) reports this after consultation with the KNMI about the weather forecast.
The heat plan will be in force from 10 a.m. tomorrow morning. According to RTV Drenthe weatherman Hans Nienhuis, the temperatures quickly rise towards 30 degrees.
On Wednesday it will probably be even warmer. “Then the whole of Drenthe reaches more than 30 degrees. There is a lot of sun with some high clouds later in the day. There is hardly any wind that day.” Halfway through the afternoon a cooling breeze can light up in Northern Drenthe and the temperature drops a number of degrees.
From Thursday, the wind will become everywhere in Drenthe Noord to Noordwest, which presses the high temperature. “But because it is high summer and the sea is also up to temperature, it is not immediately cold,” Nienhuis emphasizes.
“On Thursday it is another degree of 28 and the days after we are around 25 degrees. It stays dry, but the weather is mixed with, in addition to sun, also periods with clouds.”
With the Heat Plan, the Institute of Caregivers and (care) professionals warns of the persistent heat. According to RIVM, people aged 75 and older are the largest vulnerable group because they can keep their body temperature under control. They also have a ‘thirst feeling’ less quickly.
But people with a chronic condition, people in social isolation, homeless people and young children can, according to RIVM, get health problems if no measures are taken.
