Telstar wins thanks to Christos Giousis, but also loses the Greek with an injury

Telstar has successfully passed the first serious test in the preparation. Competitor FC Eindhoven was defeated 3-1 at home. The people of Velsen thus fuel confidence towards the start of the competition.

Telstar previously played in the preparation against amateur clubs from the region. Now FC Eindhoven was waiting for an opponent of a different caliber. Initially would The White Lions practice against Young Ajax tomorrow, but the team from Amsterdam pulled the plug from the game. The reason was that they could get too few players on their feet for that match.

Telstar started well against Eindhoven and immediately got the first big chance via Youssef el Kachati. Halfway through the first half, Christos Giousis opened the scoring with a striking header from a cross from Cain Seedorf. Just before the break, Telstar struck again and again it was Giousis who scored with his head: 2-0.

Giousis’ joy in playing had suddenly disappeared five minutes after the break. The Telstar attacker had to leave the field on a stretcher. Dehlhaus seemed to make the game exciting, but El Kachati secured the victory fifteen minutes before the end: 3-1.

Next week, Telstar will play against Rijnsburgse Boys again on Tuesday evening at 8 p.m.
