Koeman and Christos Giousis remained in the dressing room after the break and their replacements were Joey Houweling and Cain Seedorf. Telstar continued to look for the equalizer in the second half and had opportunities through Danzell Gravenberch and Youssef El Kachati. In the final phase the White Lions via Thomas Oude Kotte and Mees Kaandorp (who replaced Overtoom).
Telstar was going to play all or nothing when Quinten van den Heerik was also allowed to make an appearance. The 1-1 was in the air, but it became 2-0. Rocco Robert Shein scored the decisive goal, which sealed Telstar’s fate. Telstar remains in seventeenth place in the first division.
