Telstar defender Mitch Apau enjoys victory and party music: “Important points”

Telstar took three much needed points against low-flyer FC Den Bosch tonight with a view to qualifying for the play-offs. After the 1-0 victory in Brabant, music blasted from the speakers in the Telstar dressing room, where a small, careful party was celebrated. “If you win, it doesn’t matter what music is played.”

Telstar defender Mitch Apau and his teammates only took one shot on goal from FC Den Bosch. “It looks nice in the back. We are doing well, but we have to continue this until the end of the season. The communication in the back is good and the mutual distances are also good. Scoring against us is not very easy”, said the smiling Apau .

“If you lose once, it’s all over”

Telstar’s remaining three matches are against Willem II, MVV Maastricht and NAC Breda. No bad teams, 33-year-old Apau also knows. “The longer you’re in it, the more fun it is. That’s how the season is really fun. Fortunately, we’re still playing for something. If you lose once, it’s over. We have to stay in the race as long as possible and hope for a miracle.”

Mike Snoei enjoyed his team to the fullest, especially in the first half. Despite this, the Telstar trainer ate himself several times because so many opportunities were missed. “Even in the dressing room at half-time, the boys were a bit annoyed with each other. Because when you play such a nice first half, you have to take advantage of those two, three very big chances and then you can sit back and relax a bit.”

Telstar will be back in action this Friday. Then Mike Snoei’s team will play the home game against Willem II.
