Telstar cannot get ten of ADO Den Haag to their knees

Telstar played the last 25 minutes against ten players from ADO Den Haag, but again could not win. As a result, the team drew for the fourth time in a row. The White Lions remain unbeaten for the eighth league game in a row.

Özgür Aktas was absent from the White Lions due to a suspension. He took his fifth yellow card against NAC Breda last week and was on the penalty bench. Regular goalkeeper Ronald Koeman Jr. had an arm injury, which allowed Joey Houweling to make his debut. The game went up and down from the very first minute. Amar Catic could only approach Houweling, but his effort went just past the far post.

David Min also got a chance. His shot was too soft to outwit goalkeeper Hugo Wentges. Jay Kruiver created the next danger on Telstar’s side. He gave the ball to Christos Giousis, when he could have gone for his own success. Mario Bilate, Thomas Verheydt’s replacement, tested Houweling with a shot. He had two great chances before the break, but the goalkeeper always kept his goal clean. Jonathan Mulder (former ADO) and Glynor Plet were dangerously unsuccessful.

Dozen ADO

At the start of the second half it was Plet, who was released in front of the goal. He played the ball a little too far in front of him. Wentges was therefore able to intervene. Yahya Boussakou had come in and played an important role. He broke through the ADO defense and was knocked down hard by Amir Absalem. He was shown a red card for that foul. Cain Seedorf, former ADO player, could hurt his old team. The come-in attacker shot high over.

Plet got an imposed chance via Anwar Bensabouh, but goalkeeper Wentges again spoiled the game. That made it 0-0, the fourth draw in a row. Telstar is in joint tenth place with nineteen points. Next week the team will play against the local FC in Eindhoven.

Setup Telstar: howling; Kruiver (Boussakou/46), Apau, Blackson, Oude Kotte (Bensabouh/73), Mulder; Overtoom (Dijkstra/86), Najah; Min (Seedorf/66), Plet, Giousis (Smit/86)
