According to Telia, dozens of VPN applications have already been identified during the first half of the year. They pose a serious threat to corporate security if no action is taken.
Zero-day vulnerability refers to security openings that have not yet been published for repairs.
– Vulnerabilities are increasingly utilized, and at the shortest, only hours are talked about. Unfortunately, risks will almost certainly come true if the vulnerability is not repaired, the Sales Director of Telia Cygate’s security business Pirkko Filtness says in Telia’s bulletin.
Zero -day vulnerability is basically a race. The fastest gaps are utilized by groups of cyber crimes.
Uninvited guests
According to Filtness, vulnerabilities in VPN connections are like open doors for hackers. Small and medium-sized companies that do not have a security IT department are the shortest stick.
“Hackers act unnoticeably by cleaning their traces and strive to access the information that they seek economic or other benefits,” Filtness says.
“Unfortunately, uninvited guests are very likely to be found in the nets of Finnish companies right now,” he continues.
Signs of such guests may include, for example, vague login attempts and interruptions in the event history of the systems.
