Champions League winners Telekom Baskets Bonn have signed former Germany U20 international Samuel Griesel. The 23-year-old started his professional career with the German runners-up after he was last active in college in the USA. Griesel signed until 2025.
“Sam was not only in great demand because of his German passport, but also because of his quality,” said Baskets sporting director Savo Milovic.
Griesel was born in Lincoln/Nebraska to a German father and an American mother. Most recently, he played for the University of Nebraska, where the six-foot-tall guard averaged 12 points.
With the German U20, Griesel won bronze at the 2019 European Championship.
