Finnish striker Teemu Pulkkinen returned to Russia in July with the KHL club Traktor Chelyabinsk.

Tractor GM Ivan Savin told Championatin in the interview, that Pulkkinen and his agent Aljoša Pilko behaved well in honoring the existing agreement.

Pulkkinen had a valid contract for the upcoming season.

– He is participating in the training camp and is doing well. He also passed the medical examination, his health is in excellent condition. His agent and Teemu himself behaved very politely, we are grateful to them, Savin said.

President of the Ice Hockey Association Harri Nummela told Iltalehte in July that the players make their own decisions, after which the union draws its own conclusions.

– I am now speaking on a general level, and I am not evaluating the situation of an individual player. In the current world situation, players who play sports in club team activities in Russia would not be selected for the national team at the moment, Nummela said at the time.

Pulkkinen played 49 KHL regular season matches in Traktor last season with an output of 22+12=34.

Traktor, on the other hand, was dismantled by the defender in July Nick Bailen with a contract. Bailen moved to Germany to the ranks of Köln.
