The Vingegaard team is putting Vingegaard at the side for the duel, which was eagerly awaited with defending champion Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates-XRG), Giro-Champion Simon Yates and the top all-rounder Wout van Aert.

The eight-member line-up by ex-Vuelta winner Sepp Kuss, Paris-Nizza-Champion Matteo Jorgenson, Zeitfahr-As Victor Campenaerts as well as Tiesj Benoot and tour debut Edoardo Affini will be completed on Tuesday.

The 112nd Tour de France starts on July 5 in Lille and ends in Paris after three weeks.
