Fifty years ago, the Talking Heads performed for the first time, as the opening act of Ramones in the legendary CBGB. In the following decades they became one of the most influential art rock bands in music history and left their fans numerous iconic songs. Today they celebrate their anniversary by reminding a very specific classic: they have published a music video for “Psycho Killer”, the first song they have ever written as a band. However, the hope of a reunion of the band, cheered on by a cryptic Insta-Post, seems to have smashed.

A new music video for an old classic

“Psycho Killer” appeared on the album “Talking Heads: 77” in 1977, but never got a music video – until now. The newly published pictures were staged by Mike Mills and show actress Saoirse Ronan, who experiences a whole range of emotions before finally losing control.

“This video makes the song even better,” said the band in a statement. “We love what this video is not – it is not literally, scary, bloody, physically violent or predictable.” On the occasion of the anniversary, the band also announced a super deluxe edition of their album “More Songs About Buildings and Food”.

New edition of “Talking Heads: 77” with archive material
