Taiwan is on high alert. Since President Lai Ching-te’s return from a visit to Hawaii, among other places, an increase in Chinese military activity has been observed around the island. According to Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense, 47 military aircraft and 12 naval ships were spotted in the past 24 hours.
