After his outstanding triumph on the tour of the Flanders, Tadej Pogacar and his fiance Urska Zigart used the favor of the hour to relax a few days before Paris-Roubaix at the tennis tournament in Monte Carlo. Your arrival there was accompanied by whistles on Monday – for good reason.

Cycling superstar Tadej Pogacar and his fiancee Urska Zigart involuntarily made headlines on Monday and suffered the displeasure of those present at the tennis tournament in Monte Carlo.

The reason: The couple found his places in the stands in the first round match between the Italian Lorenzo Musetti and the Chinese Yunchaokete Bu and caused a delay in the game in the second set.

The chair referee initially asked the couple in French to sit down. When Pogacar and Zigart did not react to this, the referee spoke to her in English and said: “Please take your places quickly, we are waiting for you!”. Only then did the two cycling professionals notice that they were playing. The other fans in the stadium acknowledged the whole thing with a loud whistle concert.

Pogacar sets new standards in cycling

For Pogacar it was one of the very rare moments when he was in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. The Slovenian has dominated cycling for about a year and a half like hardly anyone in front of it.

Already in the 2024 season he set new standards when he first won the Giro d’Italia and then the Tour de France. A little later, he also chose street world champion for the first time. By the way, he also won Liège-Bastogne-Liège and the Lombardy tour that year.

In 2025, the 26-year-old is already on the road again. He narrowly missed the victory at Milan-Sanremo, he won the Tour of Flanders. Next weekend he will also be one of the very big favorites at Paris-Roubaix. There is no question that he will be the man to beat at the Tour de France 2025 2025.
