A few weeks ago, Anna Elendt was a swimming world champion. Nevertheless, the Germans have to work in parallel to training in order to be able to finance their dream.

In the ZDF “Sports Studio” she revealed on Saturday evening how she deals with the fact that she has no sponsor: “I’m working part-time at the moment.” Elendt lives in Austin in the US state of Texas and has also studied there until the very end. She stated: “Of course, the university finances during the unity. The university has taken over the apartment and the food with the scholarship for the last four and a half years.”

But now she has to think about how to shape her future. Whether she is still making a master or not. “Whether I can finance it myself or not, that’s why I work 20 hours a week,” said Elendt. This is done in parallel to training.

Since last season she has been training every Friday in the group of the American star coach Bob Bowman, who also makes swimming superstar Leon Marchand better. The Frenchman won four gold and once bronze at Olympia in Paris. In Singapore he also became world champion over the 200 and 400 meters.

Anna Elendt also said in the “Sports Studio” that she still had an invoice with the Olympic Games. Therefore, she wants to attack again in Los Angeles in 2028. After Paris she “took a very long break, I didn’t go into the water for two or three months”. She also wondered whether she would continue to swim or prefer to end the career. “I decided that I don’t want to leave it that way,” she said. The success at the World Cup gave her right.
