The city will open three open air swimming pools in the river on Saturday: at the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame and the Parc de Bercy. The swimming spots are deposited, equipped with changing rooms, showers and are monitored by lifeguards. Admission is free, but only for people who can swim.
The water quality is constantly measured, since swimmers dive directly into the river water. According to Mayor Anne Hidalgo, the initiative must contribute to a better quality of life, especially now that summerers are getting warmer. The swimming pools remain open until the end of August.
