With a post on Instagram, they look back on the concert that their comeback meant on stage after it became clear a month ago that lung cancer has been established at Freek Rikkerink.

‘Worn by golf to love’

“In the middle of a process in which everything is still new and unknown for us, being worn by a wave of love,” said Suzan & Freek. “We have both never felt anything like that, it was that intense.”

The 32-year-old Rikkerink now writes to feel that he and stamper “did well to play again.” “It feels like we have received a piece of ourselves back from ourselves since last Friday that we thought we would have lost. We were just once again Suzan & Freek, those two of those songs, and that feels so nice.”

After the diagnosis of Rikkerink, Suzan called Stortelder their management with the request that they are not yet able to cancel their festival performances. “I wasn’t there yet, I didn’t see it that I would sing these lyrics again, every word of our songs suddenly seemed to have a different load,” said Rikkerink. “But Suus knew that after a few days of sleep I would like this. Because, together with you, this is our lives and this gives us guidance in a time when we are so searching.”
