The four men between the ages of 23 and 29, who are suspected of highlighting victims throughout the Netherlands from a holiday park in Gasselternijveen, said they had nothing to know at the judge on Wednesday. The judge said he was difficult to believe this.
The police invaded the house in December. The holiday home seemed to have been furnished as a call center with laptops that were running with illegal software. A red -handed by a coincidence. A citizen agent stayed with his wife in the park during that period. The woman wanted to leave by car, but another car blocked her the way. She passed the license plate to her husband.
When he checked the license plate, he did not trust things and seized his colleagues. In addition to the laptops, the agents also encountered lists of personal data, illegal software, dozens of telephones and SIM cards. Two men were arrested in the house, two others outside. “If you were chilling, why then flee,” the judge asked. They were shocked by the noise and therefore took the legs, was the answer.
Everyone there was for themselves, busy with a phone call. Lo borrowed or not, or on a laptop. They didn’t know what they were doing. There were joints and drinks, a party and that was what they said. The judge could not imagine that four men, three of whom lived at the same address in Leeuwarden during that period, sit in a holiday home and it completely misses what is happening around them. “I find that hard to assume,” the judge said.
Three suspects appeared in court in this case. A 23-year-old man from Groningen is stuck, he is still a previously imposed punishment. Two former residents of Leeuwarden live temporarily with their family or an acquaintance. The fourth suspect did not appear, his lawyer did not want to say where he is currently staying. The men are accused of forming a criminal organization and from there were guilty of scams, computer peace breach and money laundering. The loot is estimated at almost 160,000 euros.
The public prosecutor gets the proof from the telephones of the suspects and the many declarations. Dozens of victims can be linked to the hundreds of skype messages found on them. The suspects deny, they had lent their cell phones. The telephone data also shows that the men were active earlier that year at Parc Sandur in Emmen, a park in Orvelte and Appelscha. The rent was in the name of the Groninger and his 26-year-old fellow suspect.
The Groninger is also suspected of cyber crime in the period February to April 2023 in Groningen. He would have done this together with a 30-year-old man from Assen. That case was dealt with first on Wednesday morning, regardless of the Gasselternijveen scams. A 17-year-old girl and her 22-year-old, gifted friend were deployed by the Assenaar and the Groninger as money fences. The stolen money arrived in their bank accounts.
The Bankhelpdesk fraud was committed from the house on Damssport, where the girl lived. She wanted this to stop and went to the police. “Very brave,” the public prosecutor said about this. The Assenaar then threatened her boyfriend via Skype. The suspect denied with the police. He did not appear at the session. A 15 -month prison sentence has been demanded against him.
The things of the other suspects continue on Thursday morning. Then the Public Prosecution Service comes with a penalty requirement and the defense is speaking. The ruling in all cases is already planned for April 18
