A resident of Engels, suspected of attacking her own five-year-old son, was drunk at the time of the incident. Oleg Kostin, Minister of Health of the Saratov Region, announced this on his Instagram page.
“Today’s night in Engels is unprecedented and inhuman from the point of view of both morality and common sense. Beating your child, stabbing – even animals don’t do that. As you can see, alcohol atrophies the feeling of motherhood and turns a person into a monster. It’s very scary!” , – wrote the head of the Ministry of Health.
Oleg Kostin also said that the injured child was being transferred from intensive care to a specialized hospital, where they would continue to be treated.
A brutal crime in one of the dormitories of the city of Engels happened last night. A five-year-old boy was admitted to the hospital with numerous stab wounds to his chest, abdomen and neck. The child was in a state of shock.
His 29-year-old mother was detained on suspicion of attempted murder. She raised the child alone; mother and son moved to Engels for permanent residence in the summer of 2020. The woman was detained, a criminal case was initiated.
