Mikko Paavola to end his career at the age of 27. The pole jumper told about his decision on Instagram.

Paavola, representing Alajärvi Anchors, justifies his decision with health challenges.

He writes about his career as a top athlete in the update.

– For me, pole vault was always much more than just crossing or competing. It was a way of life that shaped the black person who is now. First it gave a dream and direction and then took a greater trip than I ever dreamed of, Paavola writes.

The athlete says that, despite the end, the friends who come through sports will remain in the man’s life.

– The coolest thing here is that even though racing ends, all those lessons and people will still stay with the rest of their lives.

Paavola won the Finnish Championship at the Kaleva Games in 2020 and 2021.

Alajärvi’s record is 571, which he jumped in July 2021.
